This week, I was asked to step in for my dear friend Karen Maleck-Whiteley and do her column for the Santa Clarita Valley Signal. Since the paper was coming out on today on New Year’s Eve, the logical thing to write about would be New Year’s Resolutions. But the thing is I don’t believe that resolutions work for most people. So I suggest you do a year end review and then pick a theme for 2011.
You can read the column in full at the Signal’s website.
I want to expound here a little further, what you are doing by picking a theme is aligning your energy and emotions with what you are trying to create. This helps put the law of attraction to work for you. And even if you are tired of hearing about the law of attraction. Let’s just look at this way you want your year end goals to be stated in a way that makes your mind, heart and spirit say “Yes, I’d like some of that!”
Saying I want health and energy, feels a lot different that saying I want to lose 20 pounds. I could write a whole post about the problem with saying you want to lose weight. But let me just say that the mind has a resistance to losing anything. What happens normally when we “lose” something? We start trying to find it to get it back.
So pick a theme for this year that makes you say, “YUM!” or “YES!” and do as the article suggests, work with it everyday in the morning and let me know how it goes!
Wishing you a New Year full of Joy, Abundance and Love!
