On the walk … individual and connected

Small flowers

On the walk, nature reminds me of the beauty and perfection of life.  Today these flowers spoke of how we are are all individuals and yet we are all connected.  We are called to express our personal beauty and gifts, but not forget that we do so as part of the whole.   These simple flowers might be something that in the past I would have overlooked.  Today they reminded me of the grand connection of all life and whispered to me to slow down and nurture those connections.  The world outside us reminds us of the the world inside.

Is there someone you need to reach out to today to nurture a connection?

  1. This quote goes so nicely with the above. “A human being is a part of the whole called by us universe, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feeling as something separated from the rest, a kind of optical delusion of his consciousness.

This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty. Nobody is able to achieve this completely, but the striving for such achievement is in itself a part of the liberation and a foundation for inner security.” Albert Einstein
